The Motion Capture Pipeline…So Far

1. OPEN the Actor FBX.

2. MOTION FILE IMPORT the C3D or TRC.

3. MERGE the Character FBX. 

4.  ATTACH THE CHARACTER TO THE ACTOR.  (Double click on the character within the Navigator.  In the Character Settings tab, switch the Input Type over to Actor.)

5. SOLVE THE ACTOR MOTION. (Resize your actor if necessary, click on the Match Source checkbox, and set your Reaches in the Character Controls window, making sure that Pulls are turned OFF for everything except the hips and feet.) 

6. PLOT THE CHARACTER.  In the Character Settings window, click the Plot Character… button and plot to the Control Rig.  Remember to make an FK/IK rig if asked, remember to turn OFF Constant Key Reducer, and switch the rotation filter to Gimbal Killer

7. BEGIN ANIMATING!
